Monash Chorale is a four-part mixed community choir based in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. Formed in 1995 to foster choral singing in the City of Monash, our vision is to create a welcoming and inclusive community choir where people from all backgrounds can come together to share their love of singing.
The choir trains under the expert guidance of a professional Musical Director, Lucas de Jong, and rehearses weekly. We traditionally present three major concerts a year, often with a chamber orchestra or small band. We’ve enjoyed varied musical collaborations with local groups and often perform at local community events.
Our repertoire spans classical, romantic and contemporary works, with lighter selections such as folk songs, show medleys and G&S. With around fifty enthusiastic members—and growing—Monash Chorale is proudly un-auditioned, yet fortunate to include many trained singers, united by a passion for music and a belief in the joy and connection that choral singing brings.
Visitors, enquiries, and new members are always welcome.
We rehearse from 7:30pm Tuesday evenings in Glen Waverley, currently in the Lutheran Church, 25 Cypress Ave, Glen Waverley.

Monash Chorale is available for performances
From our membership of nearly 70 singers, a smaller choir of between 15 and 30 may be available to provide programs suitable for many occasions. Between May and September in normal years we offer a program of lighter, mostly secular songs. During November and December a Christmas program covering well known carols and popular Christmas songs is available. If you would like to explore this possibility, email us at monash.chorale@gmail.com
